Key tasks may include (not exclusively)
Assist with furniture removals of donated items
Take stock between shops and pick up transfers
Help transport equipment to and from events when needed
Complete necessary paperwork, Gift Aid forms etc
Contact customers to agree time slots for home collections/delivery
Provide excellent customer service to any donors, customers, Farleigh staff and volunteers
How we will support you
We can offer you ‘taster’ sessions in the shops and on the van so you can get an idea of what volunteering for us will be like. Once you decide you wish to continue volunteering, we will ensure you are shown how to carry out each of the tasks and that you are fully trained in the jobs you do with guidance from the shop manager and driver. We will ensure that you familiarise yourself and comply with the Health and Safety Policy, Fire Procedure, Manual Handling, GDPR and any other training where appropriate. It is also extremely important that you maintain strict confidentiality at all times. We would also ask that you adhere to the no smoking policy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Physical ability to fulfil the requirements of the role including safe moving and manual handling
A driving licence would be preferable so that you can assist with driving the van, but this is not essential
Be competent and uphold health and safety standards at all times
As a volunteer you will never be made to do any tasks that you are uncomfortable with, we rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of our volunteers and want them to feel happy in the role. Full training will be given and there is always help and support on hand if you need it. Volunteering hours are flexible on days and times required.
